Hello, I'm

J. Abimael Santos C.

I architect and maintain systems.

My expertise spans cloud platforms, container orchestration, automation frameworks, and security protocols. I specialize in building scalable, resilient systems that enable organizations to achieve their goals.

About Me

I started writing code during my early adult years, trying to understand how things work. Small scripts led to larger projects, and over time I've contributed to systems in banking, insurance, startups, and enterprise environments.

These days, I work on building systems that scale, automating testing processes, and contributing to software that holds up under real-world conditions. Much of this work happens in cloud-based environments, where reliability, security, and performance matter.

Outside of work, I spend time learning, contributing to open source projects, and reading about system-level design in Rust and modern architectures.

Here are a few things I'm focused on lately:

  • Building scalable distributed systems
  • Engineering automation solutions and reliability pipelines
  • Designing efficient developer tools and CLI utilities
  • Contributing to open source and emerging Rust ecosystems

Software DeveloperArgentum Inc. SRL

Santo Domingo, DR (Hybrid)

Development and maintenance within Odoo ERP ecosystem, refining business processes through custom implementations. Whether it’s optimizing an existing module or working with the hotfixes with a focus on reducing technical debt.

  • Tailoring Odoo’s Python-based logic to align with internal workflows, focusing on writing clean, readable code with the goal to make the system more intuitive for the end-user
  • Supporting the integration of external APIs and services, ensuring that data remains consistent across different platforms and department databases
  • Refining backend performance by identifying and optimizing SQL queries or fixing logic bugs to prevent system friction before it reaches the production environment
  • Applying a test-somewhat-heavy mindset to new features when there is a chance, leveraging my background as SDET to verify that updates don't disrupt existing functionality or data integrity
  • Assisting with the technical side of data migrations, focusing on the precision of the move and ensuring everything remains correctly mapped and accessible after the transition

Engineered end-to-end automation strategies and testing pipelines for cloud-native environments by using Selenium and Java.

  • Implementing a migration of legacy Selenium with Java bindings to a more robust implementation and scalable architecture for a core Fintech product.
  • Providing feedback for reduction of unnecessary boilerplate by making use of design patterns and OOP paradigm.
  • Providing results within time constraints due to the nature of the short-term project.
  • Taking part on initial decision gatherings.

Mockito

Featured Project

Mockito

Mockito is a library for generating and delivering HTTP mocks in Rust. You can use it for integration testing or offline work. Mockito runs a local pool of HTTP servers which create, deliver and remove the mocks.
